NEED-BASED TUITION GRANTS
Need-based tuition grants are available for those students who qualify for need-based financial aid. For determining need-based aid eligibility, BYC uses the EFC (Expected Family Contribution) contained in the Student Aid Report (SAR) obtained as a result of submitting the US Department of Education’s (US DOE) Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
However, the amount of BYC’s offer of need-based financial aid may not equal the total balance of tuition due beyond the EFC and in no case will exceed 40% of tuition at this time. In the future, BYC hopes to increase the amount of need-based financial aid it will be able to offer students that qualify for need-based financial aid.
There is no BYC specific deadline for FAFSA submission, and application to BYC for need-based grants may be made at any time, whether before or during a student’s enrollment in their educational program. Of course, need-based grants cannot be applied retroactively and will only be valid for course registrations from the date of award forward.
STUDENT LOANS
BYC is not able to offer student loans directly to its students at this time. However, students may be able to secure student loans for their BYC education from other sources. The obligations for the repayment of loans from sources other than BYC are determined by those sources and BYC has no responsibility or liability for such repayment.
MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
BYC is unfortunately not able to offer merit-based scholarships at this time, although BYC expects to be able to offer such scholarships in the future.
TEACHING AND RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Partial or full tuition waivers for a limited number of BYC teaching and research fellowships may be available at any given time. Please contact the BYC executive secretary for current information about available fellowships.
CONSUMER PRACTICES
It is BYC’s institutional policy to follow consumer practices that are consistent with those required by Florida Statute s. 1005.04. |
